What should a wedding photography quote specify?
List every event with its date, location and coverage hours. Identify photography and film crew separately, then specify edited images, film formats, albums, revision terms and delivery dates. Ask how travel, overtime and additional events are charged.
How can we assess a photographer beyond an Instagram reel?
Ask to review a complete delivered gallery and film relevant to your venue and lighting, and confirm who created them and who will cover your wedding. Élan is a new studio; do not assume an established archive or review history. Discuss the actual assigned team and available work before booking.
How do we avoid missing important family photographs?
Create a short named list of must-have people and moments. Appoint someone who recognises both families to help assemble groups. Schedule portraits around the ceremony instead of assuming that everyone will remain available afterwards.
What happens if equipment fails or files are lost?
Ask the assigned team to explain backup equipment, recording practices, file copies and retention. Record the agreed process in the scope. A general promise of “unlimited coverage” does not answer how your photographs will be protected.
When should delivery and privacy be agreed?
Before paying the booking amount. Record preview and final delivery dates, selection responsibilities, revision rounds, download access and retention. Discuss portfolio publication and any private events explicitly, so permission to photograph is not assumed to be permission to publish.
