What wedding photography costs in Bangalore in 2026
In Bengaluru, a full wedding with photography only sits in an observed market band of roughly ₹1,00,000 to ₹3,00,000, and ₹2,00,000 to ₹6,50,000 with a film added. These are market bands as of September 2026, not an Élan Films rate card. Peak-season dates from November to February usually quote 10–20% higher.
The first quote you get in Bengaluru will feel either too high or suspiciously low, and you will not know which. Here is the normal range, and what pushes a quote to one end of it.

What is the normal range for a Bangalore wedding?
These figures are observed market bands as of September 2026, not an Élan rate card. They are here so you can tell whether a quote in your hand is inside the normal range. Our own figure is built from your events, and the pricing page shows how that works.
| What | Observed band, Bengaluru | What moves it inside the band |
|---|---|---|
| One event, photography only | ₹35,000 – ₹1,20,000 | One shooter for a few hours, or a lead and an assistant for the full event |
| Full wedding, photography only | ₹1,00,000 – ₹3,00,000 | How many events, and whether parallel events get a second shooter |
| Full wedding, photo and film | ₹2,00,000 – ₹6,50,000 | Film crew size, and a short film versus a long-form edit |
| Pre-wedding shoot, local | ₹25,000 – ₹90,000 | Half a day at one place, or a full day across two with permissions |
| Pre-wedding shoot, destination | ₹1,00,000 – ₹4,00,000 | Crew travel and days away from home |
For comparison, the same observed bands put a full Goa wedding at ₹1,20,000 – ₹3,50,000 for photography only and ₹2,40,000 – ₹7,50,000 with film. Kerala sits at ₹90,000 – ₹2,80,000 and ₹1,80,000 – ₹6,00,000. Goa runs higher mainly because the crew stays through the event.
What pushes a Bengaluru quote up?
Four things, and the camera is not one of them.
- The number of events. Mehendi, haldi, sangeet, the muhurtham and a reception are five separate jobs. A quote for “the wedding” that covers only the muhurtham and reception will look cheap next to one that covers all five.
- Parallel events. In Bengaluru the bride often gets ready at home while the groom's side gathers at the kalyana mantapa across the city. One photographer cannot be in both places, so a second shooter appears on the quote. That line is real.
- The film. It is a second production with its own crew and months of editing, and it should be quoted as its own line.
- Travel. A Coorg, Chikmagalur or Mysuru shoot adds crew travel and stay. Ask for it as a separate visible line, so you can compare the coverage itself with a studio that quotes it differently.
Does peak season change the price?
Usually by 10–20%, from November to February and during the April–May muhurtham weeks. The bigger problem is availability. The person whose work you liked can shoot one wedding a day, and those dates go first.
Kalyana mantapa or hotel ballroom: does the venue matter?
It changes the work more than the price. Many mantapas have low ceilings, tube lights and a stage crowded with relatives during the muhurtham, so the photographer needs a light placed before the hall fills and a spot agreed with the family. The muhurtham guide covers that hour in detail.
Hotel ballrooms have more space and controlled lighting, but reception rigs are often coloured for the audience rather than for skin. Hotels may also have rules on where crew can set up and how early they can get in. Ask the venue for its vendor rules before the photographer plans the day.
Is GST included in a wedding photography quote?
Ask. Photography services in India are generally billed with 18% GST, and some quotes include it while others add it at the end. On a ₹2,00,000 quote that difference is ₹36,000. Check whether the figure says inclusive or exclusive of GST, and check that the final invoice matches what you agreed. If you need tax advice, ask your accountant rather than the studio.
How do you compare two quotes fairly?
Put them side by side on four lines and ignore the package names.
- How many crew are on the day, and for which events.
- How many hours each event is covered.
- Who the named lead photographer is, written into the contract.
- What is delivered, in what form, and by which date.
Then add GST and travel to both, so you are comparing the same thing. If a quote cannot answer one of those four lines, these are the questions to send back. For how coverage is planned around a Bengaluru wedding day, see wedding photography in Bangalore.
Questions couples ask
What does a wedding photographer charge for one event in Bangalore?
The observed market band for one event with photography only is roughly ₹35,000 to ₹1,20,000 as of September 2026. The low end is usually one shooter for a few hours; the high end is a lead photographer and an assistant for the whole event. Ask how many hours are included and what overtime costs if the event runs late.
Is a second photographer needed for a Bangalore wedding?
Often, yes. When the bride gets ready at home and the groom's side gathers at the mantapa, those are two events in two places at the same time. One photographer covers one of them. If both sides get ready at the same venue, one shooter may be enough for that hour.
Does a Coorg or Mysuru pre-wedding shoot cost more than one in Bangalore?
Usually, because crew travel and stay are added. The shooting itself is priced the same way; the extra is the days away. Ask for travel as a separate line so you can see exactly what it adds and compare it fairly with a local shoot.
Should a Bangalore photography quote include GST?
It should say clearly whether it does. Photography services are generally billed with 18% GST, so an exclusive quote will be noticeably higher at invoice time. Confirm inclusive or exclusive in writing before you pay the booking amount.
