Sakleshpur sits at the top of the ghat on the Western Ghats edge, and it takes the monsoon heavily. From June to September roads are wet, estate paths are slippery and leeches are a real part of any walk. The dry months are the practical window, and the mornings then often start in low cloud that clears within an hour or two.
Most couples who shoot here stay on an estate, and that is the right way to think about the place. The estate is the location, the fort and the viewpoints are one session each, and the drive between them is slower than the map suggests.

Private working land and the reason to come. Agree the shoot with the owner, ideally when you book the stay. Cardamom grows under dense cover, so those blocks are dark; the coffee rows and estate edges give you more light to work with.
Karnataka Tourism describes a star-shaped fort built by Tipu Sultan in 1792 at about 988 m, open 8 am to 6 pm with no entry fee. It is a climb of steps from the road, exposed at the top and without shade, so early morning is the window, before the heat and before visitors arrive, and the misty views are best in winter or just after the monsoon. Confirm the rules on tripods and organised shoots with the site staff before planning.
Inside reserve forest, with a long and slow road in, and the official pages we checked publish no visitor rule for it. Organised shoots and drones are a question for the forest department, and access can change with the weather, so ask before planning. Treat it as a morning trip rather than a sunset one, given the drive back in the dark.
